Salam
I was actually at the mall today, and as usual the stores are filled with music thats "humanly" corrupted, {many of Muslims unfortunately claim that Music itself in essence is prohibited}. So the idea of this poem suddenly entered my mind.
let me clarify that I support music's essential existence a 100% percent, and I can only cry out against our own egocenteric injustices against it. The Poem is just a draft, and not close to what i consider 'aesthetic' language, but im waiting for your comments and critiscsms so that i may attempt to 'perfect' it.
-Enters Plaintiff
“Your Honor, You who brought me into existence
Through the Mercy you forever bestow
I am here to make a complaint against the tyranny of the human goal
I am the plaintiff of corruption in this court
Your Honor, discern what is truth in this sanctuary of justice
Oh All-hearing, you felt me necessary
And you brought me to “be”
{---[…although they’ve blamed Lucifer for it all]---}
Lord! Although I am a plaintiff, I’ve been accused guilty
I am Music, the melody of the Creator
It is time to introduce my moments of misery
For I seek justice in this court”
The Judge inspires, “Speak Melody, speak, for I am All-Hearing”
And Music begins to cry
“You, human, dare
Boldly blame my name for your own wrongs?
While you’ve
Abused me
& Enslaved me
Disguised me as a scapegoat of your own
Immorality
Isolate me!
You human soul,
You oppress me through your bigoted industry
Consume my melody by your insanity
Ascribe to me letters and words of lust to merely amuse
Belittle my significance in your own vacuum of goals
CLEAR MY NAME of your crimes
Attribute me not to your disastrous self
Do not degrade my rhythm by your hearts sickening pleasure
You’re a criminal
For having encapacitated my name
Used me for lustful purposes through your drunkenness
I am Music, an announcer of God’s say on Earth
But I’ve been
Chained by the human depravity
Waiting for the reach of Dawn
So I may attain liberty
From this worldly intoxication
Lord, they’ve scolded my worth
Ridiculed my intent
Tainted my purpose
Oh Discerner of Truth from False
They’ve corrupted my very principle
Addicted me to a consumerist society
Revolutionized my worth as mere capitalistic pleasure
Commercialized my message into gold and silver
They have finalized their plot
To paralyze me, Your Honor
I’ve been crippled and ripped of my pride
My purpose of existence
thrown aside
I’ve become - human-ified-. . .,
Your Honor
I rest my case.”
